Audi A1 Gets Even Greener!
The most recent addition to the Audi A1 model is the A1 TDI with some impeccable environmental statistics making it even more of an attractive option.
It's 1.6 TDI diesel engine with a start-stop function has the capability of acheveing an incredible 74.3 miles to the gallon on a combined cycle. Not only is the fuel efficancy impressive but the CO2 emissions are just 99g/km, placing it firmly into A band of VED (Vehicle Excise Duty).
VED band A status brings with it many benefits including exclusion from London's congestion charge and no road tax to pay from 2 years onwards.
You would be forgiven if you assumed performance would be restricted due to the greener credentials but the Audi A1 1.6 TDI still manages to impress with a nimble 0-62mph in 10.5 seconds and a top speed of 118mph.
The 1.6 TDI diesel engine is available on the SE, Sport and S line variants and on the road prices start from only £14,480! Very impressive considering all the standard features like alloy wheels, air conditioning and MP3 compatibility.
